Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Never underestimate the energy that a group of first graders have. With a troupe of over 12 kids, Mrs. Murphy's class built a massive Monument of Faith nearly 8 meters high. While it is nowhere near the record breaking 33 meter monument built in 2001, it is certainly a record for a group so young. "Since the kids are not as strong as adults, we had to use much smaller sacks than the other monuments that I have seen, but overall, I think that things went really well", said Mrs. Murphy. "I am really proud of the kids. This is probably the first time that any of them ever had to do anything like this and they did not complain even once. Some of them wanted to keep making it bigger but there is only so much room to put such a thing". Mrs. Murphy says that the $420,000.00 grant will be used to add a second floor to St Jude Grade School and to fund the education of underprivileged kids in the area.
